The court has denied the request of the State Geology Service to cancel the Carpathian Ore Company license for the Muzhievskoye gold deposits in Zakarpatye region.
The company received the license to mine gold in 2012.
In 2014 the prosecutors found violations in the operation of the company and the service stopped the license and filed a suit to cancel it. The company said it could not remove violations because the letter of the service with the list was sent to the old address. Thus the court allowed the company to exploit the deposits.
In May 2015, a mining license was issued to Carpathian by the National Agency for Mineral Resources (NAMR). By law, the license will need to be ratified by four ministries, namely the Ministry of Economy, Environment, Public Finance and Justice, and published in the government Gazette. Carpathian management is working diligently to have NAMR initiate the ratification process and allow the Company to initiate the full permitting process at Rovina, in Romania.
