Kootenay Zinc’s drilling contractor, FB Drilling of Cranbrook, BC has mobilized to the E3 Target on its Sully Project and has commenced drilling. Exploration efforts are focused on discovery of zinc SEDEX mineralization.
Having recently completed detailed gravity surveying and mass modeling, as well as outcrop sampling, the project team is excited to drill hole SY17-15 to test the E3 gravity anomaly area for the first time. Initially, two holes will assess the near surface (less than 300m deep) portions of the target to potentially identify, and provide proof of concept as to the source of what causes the gravity anomalies identified at Sully.
Kootenay Zinc Corp. is a mineral exploration and development company based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, that is presently targeting the Sully Property. The Company is focused on discovering large-scale sedimentary-exhalative deposits.
The Sully Property comprises 1,375 hectares located approximately 30 kilometres east of Kimberley, B.C., and overlies rocks of similar age and origin as those which host the world-class Sullivan deposit, owned by Teck Resources Ltd. Sullivan was discovered in 1892, and is known to be one of the largest Sedex deposits in the world.
