Australian scientific research agency CSIRO has licensed HyLogger, its mineral analysis technology, to METS group Corescan. Using hyper-spectral imaging, it has the potential to make logging drill cores faster and more accurate – and Australia’s mining sector more competitive, as Mining Technology reports.
Drilling in search of mineral resources is often a laborious process, and one that often requires bands of geologists, engineers and metallurgists on the ground. Driven by a robotic sampling system, HyLogger uses automated hyper-spectral analysis that makes logging drill cores faster and more accurate.
