Canadian miner Darien Resource Develop-ment has unveiled plans to expand to Chile’s copper industry.
The company said in a statement “it has entered into an agreement … to acquire a 100% interest in the Cristal project … located in northern Chi-le.”
“The Cristal project is highly prospective for the discovery of a buried porphyry copper deposit in a region and geologic setting well known for hosting some of the world’s most prolific copper mines,” said Grant Ewing, the company’s president and CEO. “Darien intends to further fo-cus on opportunities in Chile.”
Darien says that the project is located in a Chilean region with excellent access and infrastructure, and noted for the occurence of world class copper deposits.
Based in Vancouver, Canada, Darien is also planning to change its na-me to New Energy Metals Corp., according to the statemen
