Abra Mining, a subsidiary of Australian miner Galena Min-ing, has placed orders worth a total of A$9 million (US$7 million) for two key items for the Abra processing plant in Australia: the ball mill and the concentrate filter (horizontal filter press).
Tony James, the managing director of Galena Mining, said in a statement that ordering the equipment for the lead-silver project represents “a key step in the plant build program for Abra. The ball mill and the concentrate filter are internationally sourced long lead-time items required for the plant and the company in consultation with GR Engineering has chosen trusted, industry-leading suppliers for both items”.
Under the plan, the ball mill for the Abra plant will be produced by Chinese manufacturer CITIC-Heavy Industries. The concentrate filter will be made by Japan’s Ishigaki, according to the statement.
