Canada’s Torex Gold has released an updated mineral re-source estimate for the miner’s Media Luna gold project in Mexico.

The property now consists of a gold equivalent indicated resource of some 4.39 million oz at an average grade of 5.38 grams per tonne, the company said in a statement. This translates into a 24 percent increase in contained AuEq metal in the indicated resource category in comparison with the previous resource estimate from 30 April 2021.

Of the current indicated resource of the Mexican project, 60 percent of the gold equivalent estimate is attributable to gold, 33 percent to copper, and the remainder to silver, according to data released by Torex Gold.

The miner says it is focused on mining, developing and exploring the company’s 29,000-hectare Morelos gold property in Mexico’s Guer-rero Gold Belt.
