London-based miner Nord Gold SE has re-ported improved results for the third quarter of 2019, boosted by the higher production of its new Russian mine.

"Refined gold production increased by 12% year-on-year … to 759.6 koz mainly driven by the excellent performance of the new Gross mine," the miner said in a statement.

Building on these improved results, the gold production outlook for the Gross mine in 2019 was revised to between 230,000 and 235,000 oz compared to the initial outlook of 190,000 oz, according to Nord Gold.

"This follows the expansion of the mining and processing operations to 14 million tonnes per year, from 12 million tonnes, along with the mine’s quicker than expected ramp up and better than planned re-coveries," the statement said.

Nord Gold says it runs operations in West Africa, Kazakhstan and Russia.
