Miner advances Mexican polymetallic project

Canada’s Southern Silver Exploration Corp. has reported on further assay results from the Mina La Bocona target on the Cerro Las Minitas project in Durango, Mexico.

 

“These latest drill results are from the Huizache chimney, an area located approximately 80 metres to the northwest of the La Bocona and Mina Pina shafts along the eastern side of the Cerro and within the larger Mina La Bocona Target area,” the company said in a statement.

 

“Cerro Las Minitas has an indicated resource of 11.1 million tonnes grading 105 grams silver per tonne, 0.16% copper, 1.2% lead, 3.7% zinc and 0.10 gram gold per tonne (375 grams silver-equivalent per tonne) for contained metal of 37.5 million oz. silver, 40 million lb. copper, 303 million lb. lead, 897 million lb. zinc, and 35,000 oz. gold or 133.9 million silver-equivalent ounces,” the statement said.

 

Located about 70 km to the north-east of Mexican city of Durango, the Cerro Las Minitas project consists of some 25 concessions totaling about 34,450 hectares, according to data from Southern Silver.
