Canada’s Playfair Mining has purchased exploration rights on the 80.7 square kilometre Folldal copper project from the Norwegian government, the company said in a statement.
Don Moore, the chief executive of Playfair Mining, was quoted in the statement as saying that the company’s “approach of applying mod-ern technology to exploration of the RKV historic mining district has identified compelling new drill targets in underexplored areas. We are looking forward to drilling these targets this summer.”
Norways offers companies such as Playfair Mining numerous under-explored districts with favorable geology, according to the chief exec-utive.
“We are confident that a similar approach to selected properties, such as Folldal, will generate excellent targets for copper, zinc, and gold discoveries during a time of strong metal prices,” he said.
Playfair Mining has been exploring in Norway since 2019.
