A $700m contract secured
BGC Contracting has secured a $700m contract to provide mining and equipment maintenance services at Idemitsu Australia Resources’ Boggabri coal mine in New South Wales.
“In addition to the size of the contract, it is a significant strategic success as we seek to expand nationally into new locations and commodities, particularly in coal", says BGC Contracting CEO Greg Heylen to mining technology.com.
Boggabri mine is an open-cut coal operation, with production up to seven million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of saleable coal and a mine-life until 2033.
