Poland’s copper, silver miner eyes foreign copper smelting plant

New smelting project Polish copper and silver miner KGHM S.A. is considering to build a copper smelting plant abroad, said Radosław Domagalski-Łabędzki, the companys chief executive.

 

The CEO told local news agency PAP that KGHM is aiming to make a decision on the potential project by the end of this year.

 

The firm is reportedly interested in becoming a general contractor of copper smelting plant projects in Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. These are estimated to be  worth between PLN 6 billion ($1.6 billion) and PLN 8 billion ($2.2 billion).
