Zimbabwe’s gold producer eyes higher production

Higher gold output Zimbabwes leading gold producer Metallon Corporation says it forecasts production of 115,000 oz this year, up 22% from 94,212 oz reported in 2016.

 

Kimpton Chiwota, the companys general manager, told local daily New Zimbabwe that local gold producers are planning to invest a total of $120 million in developing their production capacities this year. This would represent a robust increase compared with last years $22 million.

 

Metallon Corporation owns four gold mining companies in Zimbabwe, as well as facilities located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Tanzania.
