The industry group headed by Svante Axelsson discussed in Swedish newspaper, DN Debate, on how a climate plan is being drafted to reach a fossil-free steel industry with enhanced competitiveness.

- The way how steel is produced will be crucial for climate change. Therefore, we are now drawing up a roadmap to reach fossil freedom with enhanced competitiveness. But in order to cope with the huge investments needed, political muscles and long-term goals are needed as well, writes an industry group consisting of ten steel companies and organizations led by Svante Axelsson in DN Debate.

Svante Axelsson is coordinator of Fossilfri (fossil free) Sweden and former Secretary General of the Nature Conservation Association.
