Expansion plans Hindustan Zinc has reported it mined a total of 906,984 tonnes in its financial year 2017, and plans to further raise its annual output to some 1.2 million tonnes in the coming years.

“The planned commissioning of Rampura Agucha and Sindesar Khurd shafts in 2018-19 will facilitate our journey to 1.2 million MT mined metal capacity by 2019-20 with further improvement in our cost structure,” the company said in its annual report.

Hindustan Zinc says it is India's largest and world's second largest zinc miner, and ranks among the world’s 18 top silver producers.
