- According to agreement, the remaining part of the mining company Northland's bankruptcy estate will be sold to Abecede AB, aiming to resume operations, announced the bankruptcy administrator recently. The plants where iron ore is refined has previously been transferred to Abecede.

The Kaunisvaara mine in Pajala, which has gone bankrupt, can be saved. The bankruptcy manager has reached a binding agreement to sell the remaining shares of the estate of the bankruptcy estate.

If the mining operation resumes, 300 new jobs can be created, according to TV News broadcaster in Swedish region Norrbotten.

"A dismantling of the mine would not only lead to the disappearance of all revenues and jobs, but also to the state's recovery costs for the premature mining area." A possible reboot of operations is therefore positive on very many levels, "comments the bankruptcy manager Hans Andersson in a press release.

The difference between the society between continued mining and a decommissioning is estimated at approximately SEK 4 billion over the next 20 years, according to an investigation ordered by the bankruptcy administrator.
