CEC restores power to Mopani Copper Mines
Cupperbetl Energy Corporatin, CEC, has agreed to restore power to Glencore`s Mopani Copper Mines. The deal was reached after lengthy consultatacilitaion to restore full power supply to the mine.
Amos Chanda, presidential spokesman said that details of the agreement facilitated by government will be finalised over a six-week period.
The power utility company, CEC, buys power from the state owned electricity company and resells it to mines, cut supply to Mopani after a dispute over new tariffs.
