Upgrade projects Russia’s steel producer and metals company MMK has announced it invested some RUB 1.64 billion ($29 million) in building new environmental facilities and upgrading the existing ones.
The projects were carried out in the first six months of this year, the Russian company said in a statement. MMK says that, as part of the investments, a new aspiration system for foundries on blast furnace nr 10 was put into operation. The installation has capacity of 800,000 m3 per hour, and it will allow to collect the dust from the foundries of the blast furnace.
In 2016, the Magnitorsk-based firm produced some 12.5 million tonnes of crude steel and 11.6 million tonnes of commercial steel products. Last year, MMK reported sales of some $5.63 billion, and an EBITDA of close to $1.96 billion, according to data released by the company.
