Canadian miner launches gold, silver production at Argentinian mine

Production kicked off Canadian miner Yamana Gold has an-nounced the first pour of gold and silver at its Cerro Moro mine in Argentina’s Santa Cruz province.

 

"The production ramp up of Cerro Moro continues to track according to plan with commercial production expected in the second quarter of 2018," Yamana Gold said in a statement. "The company expects most of Cerro Moro’s 2018 production in the second half of the year. With the ramp up of production underway, the company is fo-cusing on ensuring mill throughput rates reach nameplate capacity of 1,000 tonnes per day, and that grades and recoveries reconcile to plan."

 

The miner has published a guidance of 85,000 oz of gold and 3.75 million oz of silver for 2018 In 2019, the guidance is 125,000 oz of gold and 6 million oz of silver, according to data from Yamana Gold
