Canada’s Alamos Gold has reported a higher output for 2018 which marked a record year in terms of production.
“Alamos produced a record 505,000 ounces of gold in 2018, meeting production guidance and marking an 18% increase from 2017. This was driven by strong performances from Mulatos and Island Gold, the latter setting a new record for production and continuing to demonstrate strong potential for growth in mineral reserves and resources,” said John A. McCluskey, the company’s president and chief executive, as quoted in a statement.
In 2019, the miner expects to produce between 480,000 and 520,000 oz of gold, according to the statement. Alamos Gold says its combined annual gold production is expected to reach about 500,000 oz per year in 2019 and 2020, increasing to more than 600,000 oz in 2021.
The company owns assets in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and Turkey.
