The Finnish state begins to develop the mining and battery industry more vigorously through the new Finnish company called Suomen Malmijalostus.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Policy of the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to concentrate the investments of the mining industry in the Suomen Malmijalostus and contribute to the development of the battery industry.

The aim is to lead the investment of the state mining industry and the development of the battery industry into Finland from one company.

"The battery industry can bring significant success to Finland. We have a number of successful players and significant know-how on the bottom of which it is possible to build a mining and battery cluster, "says Mika Lintilä, Minister of Economy.

The name of the Terrafame Group, a monopoly mining company located in Sotkamo, would be replaced by the Suomen Malmijalostus, whose holding in the mining company Terrafame will remain at 77 percent.
