Canadian miner Copper Mountain has reported record quarterly production of some 30.4 million lb of copper equiva-lent for the first quarter of 2021. In the first three months of this year, the company produced 25.5 million lb of copper, 8,187 oz of gold, and 160,484 oz of silver.
The January-March 2021 period also allowed the business to post record quarterly revenues of C$162.2 million (US$131.1 million) gen-erated from the sale of 27.5 million lb of copper, 8,553 oz of gold and 161,657 oz of silver, net of pricing adjustments, Copper Mountain said in a statement. This represented a robust 327 percent increase compared with the first quarter of 2020.
“As a result of our record first quarter and the expected continued strong production throughout the year, we expect production to be in the upper half of our annual production range of 85 to 95 million pounds of copper,” said Gil Clausen, the president and chief execu-tive of Copper Mountain.
