Africa-focused miner Akobo Minerals has re-leased the recently obtained preliminary results of new resource es-timates from its Segele mine development project in Ethiopia.
Jørgen Evjen, the chief executive of Akobo Minerals, said in a state-ment that the latest results indicate the project could bring significant profits to the company.
“We eagerly anticipate the full results of the mineral resource esti-mate from geology and resource specialist, SRK, which will be un-dertaken as soon all results are in from ALS. The engineering design within our scoping study shows that the Segele mine should be a high-margins operation, with an all-in production cost of around $250 per ounce,” he said.
Evjen said that Akobo Minerals anticipates limited mining production at Segele to begin at the end of 2022, with production expected to peak in mid-2023.
